Company constantly investing in expanding but no infrastructure behind that (new stores missing essential tools needed to run a store effectively, just about 0 training but high expectations from the start, constantly understaffed but upper management expects you to just pull the weight - saves them on payroll but you better hit metrics and make them money, the bonus structure is a joke.) No job security, watched upper management fire employees for no reason to save money while investing massively in underprepared stores and making already understaffed stores MORE understaffed. Turn and burn culture, the culture between employees in store can be great but upper management has such a toxic culture, they will ruin it. 0 support from upper management, upper management not only refusing to increase headcount, but will actually argue with you as soon as you bring up the topic. Let me explain: you will always have lines of customers staring at you getting increasingly disgruntled as they wait, you will have no downtime to recover from dealing with angry customers so your every day-to-day life will look like de-escalating customers nonstop with no downtime, therein lies the damage to your mental health. The customers you deal with can be a nightmare, now you may say “that’s customer service for you,” but the real issue comes from constantly being understaffed and dealing with difficult customers. If you have a successful month, it means nothing to management, you might get a pat on the back but that’s followed with metrics are where you still failed, if you have a bad month get ready to be harassed by management constantly for the following month and probably written up. Drastically under payed for the amount of time and effort upper management asks of you, and the technical knowledge needed to perform well in store. I worked there for 6 years so here’s what I saw.
